YOUR BODY RELATIONSHIP RESULT TYPE:

Over-Intellectualizer

Hello Beautiful Soulđź’–

As an over-intellectualizer, you’re resilient and determined to do what’s right—and that’s going to come in handy on your journey to a healthier body relationship.

You tell yourself that you don’t care what you look like.  You pride yourself on not being vain or “too much”.

You’re focused on more important things, accomplishing and achieving your goals and being the best mom, wife, friend to everyone else etc.

You may feel disconnected from your body.  You may find that while living in your head, there’s a lack of care, kindness and possibly respect for your body.

It may feel easier to be disconnected from your body because it’s just too uncomfortable or painful to be in your body and sit with your emotions. Staying in your head allows for a greater sense of control and comfort.

You may tend to treat your body like an object that needs to be controlled.

What’s working well:

  • You’re intelligent - Brilliant survival skills to prove worth through accomplishments & achievements and people-pleasing

  • You’re resilient - Even though you are at a point of frustration, you haven’t given up working to get to a better place with your body.

A Gentle Invitation:

I invite to you start engaging in nervous system practices and slowing down to shine a light on some of the beliefs that keep you stuck in proving your worth..

Try this:

Start listening to your body’s needs for rest.  Often when our body tries to tell us it needs rest, we respond by overriding that need with caffeine or sugar.  So as often as you can, instead of reaching for the stimulant, try giving your body some rest, even if it’s just 10 minutes of closing your eyes.

By listening to our body’s basic needs, we begin to better regulate our nervous system which can deepen your commitment and understanding of your body, and thus healing.
