My somatic coaching program blends mind-body based practices, nervous system regulation and hypnotherapy through a liberatory, decolonization lens.

Somatics basically means relating to the body. It’s a process of being with, connecting to and deeply listening to body to discharge stored survival energy (aka trauma) and complete self-protective motor responses.

Nervous system regulation involves practices that builds the capacity to be with sensations, so that the energy can actually be transmuted and released, rather than re-traumatization.

This is all done through a lens that honors our humanity, rather than reinforcing mainstream beliefs designed to prioritize profits and oppressive systems. You are not broken, but rather our culture is toxic and our body’s response is a natural response to the way we are conditioned.

Somatic coaching can be deeply transformative because you can access your subconscious beliefs and stored stress through your body…not through your mind.

Somatic Coaching Sessions

A somatic session is a trauma-informed practice that supports emotional and sensory body memory. You will be given the support and guidance to compassionately relate to your sensations, discharge stored energy (aka trauma), and regulate your nervous system staying within your capacity. This session is 50 minutes in length via Zoom.

Sessions are $150, or $130 with a package purchase of 5.

Why is somatic support important?

If you live in your head, somatic support is especially important to process all that is held in your body.

Co-regulation and expert guidance from a somatic coach supports your nervous system, allowing you to process challenging things that you can’t process individually.

A somatic coach who has personal trauma healing and liberation experience can provide a safer space to support you without bypassing the realities of our culture.

We aren’t meant to do this alone. Oppressive conditioning is learned in relationship with others so embodied healing must also happen in relationship with others.

If you typically avoid “negative” emotions, you might have a pattern of becoming overwhelmed by them. Having a somatic coach guide you to titrate in little bits will help you move through them rather than being re-traumatized by them.

Somatics isn’t about talking about your trauma, it’s about FEELING what’s present in the moment guided by the wisdom of your body.

I was a high-achieving, people pleaser with an explosive temper. I was critical, judgmental, constantly striving to prove my worth. I was stuck in a roller coaster of chasing the next high until I burnt out again. 

I thought this was normal with having a successful engineering career, custom built home, husband and kids, and traveling the world etc.

I was tired of the hustle and feeling emplty. When my health started to decline. I knew I had to do something differently. My healing journey began when I started healing my relationship with my body.

With each layer of transformation, my engineering mind had to understand the science behind my profound experiences. 

I took classes with top educators in the fields of neuroscience, somatics, trauma, meditation, breathwork, yin yoga, hypnotherapy, indigenous practices, and anti-oppression.  I hired coaches steeped in these fields to do my own deep internal work (and continue to do so).

I’m certified in life coaching, mind-body (somatics) therapy, hypnotherapy, and yin yoga. I’m currently in a 3 year program to becomes a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.

I believe what sets me apart from other practitioners is not necessarily my knowledge but the fact that I can deeply empathize with others on their healing journey.

I’ve been supporting women in feeling more confident in their body since 2004. In 2017 I started the Confidence Campaign events and Awaken retreats and have supported hundreds of women.

I know in my heart of hearts that this work is my soul purpose.
